And just when people thought the internet had moved past the ‘KimYe’ divorce, Drake dropped a new song. The song wasn’t something out of the ordinary, except for the part that featured Kim Kardashian’s voice discussing divorce with Ye. That took everyone by surprise. As soon as the new song produced by Noah ’40’ Shebib, Bnyx, Wesley Curtis, and Lil Yachty was dropped, Kim Kardashian’s look-alike on the cover of the song caught everyone’s attention.

And therefore, in a very old-fashioned way, the internet’s search for that mysterious lady began. The song is a subliminal diss toward the former billionaire and ex-husband of the Kardashian, Kanye West. Drake’s new song is a diss towards Kanye West

It was meant to be one from its inception and thus marketed in such a way too. The song was first teased on SiriusXM Radio on the 2nd of April. Drake‘s song gathered a ginormous amount of hype, especially for Kim Kardashian‘s feature in the song. Well not quite literally, the rapper sampled the voice of the business mogul. It was the discussion of her divorce in the series finale of the show that made her who she is today, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. In the said clip, she says,

“I didn’t come far just to come this far and not be happy,”

Drake rapping about the emptiness of being alone and finding love was a perfect contrast to Kim Kardashian’s yearning for freedom. Therefore, a perfect fit for the song. It is no secret that the relationship between the two rappers Kanye West and Drake has been a bumpy one.
