Kanye West was featured on Jennifer Lopez’s Get Right
When it comes to her successful singing career, the pop star has delivered a long list of evergreen hit songs. Jennifer Lopez has many successful team-ups with Pitbull and On The Floor has to be one of the best works. Third chart-topper for Jennifer Lopez, the song sold 928,000 copies and gathered 23.7 million plays. With 372,000 copies sold, If You Had My Love, was Lopez’s other superhit.
Released in 2005, Get Right was Jennifer Lopez’s second number 1 hit. The song sold 260,000 copies and amassed 14.6 million streams. Initially, Kanye West was set to appear in the song. The first verse of Gone, also released in 2005, was originally set to be in Jennifer Lopez’s Get Right, but instead Kanye West used the verse for Gone from his sophomore album Late Registration.
Consequence, who featured in Gone, revealed that as Jennifer Lopez’s camp simply wanted only Kanye West on the song, he took the step to take a stand for his friend. Kanye West was of the opinion that if Consequence is not there, West won’t do it either and thus, West’s verse featured in Gone instead of Get Right.
