Will Ferrell’s Most Daring Scene in The Boys Season 4 Didn’t Make the Final Cut But the Actor Has Done the Same Plenty of Times Before
Will Ferrell is one of the most acclaimed comedy actors in Hollywood. After experimenting with several jobs, he was encouraged to do something he liked and this something turned out to be comedy. After little success in stand-up comedy, he became a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1995. From there, Ferrell went on to star in numerous movies and shows.
Ferrell is widely known for improvising his scenes while filming. Starring in the satirical superhero series The Boys was no different as the actor improvised one of his scenes. It was not something he did for the first time, but the scene never made it to the final cut.
Will Ferrell and P.J. Byrne Improvised this The Boys Scene
The first 3 episodes of The Boys Season 4 dropped recently and they feature cameos of several A-listers. One of them is Will Ferrell, who appears as an actor named Ferrell Streep in a parody movie with Jesse T. Usher’s character A-Train/Reggie Franklin.
In the fictional movie, Streep stars as Coach Brink, who is adamant about being A-Train’s character’s savior as he tries to coax him into moving to the suburbs together. At this point, the fictional film’s director Adam Bourke (played by recurring The Boys guest star P.J. Byrne) cuts the scene and begins praising Streep.
In an interview with The Wrap, show creator Eric Kripke revealed that the scene got a little intense as the director kept on praising Streep and the two began making out, which was unscripted.
It was just him psyching him up that he’s going to be an Oscar winner, and at one point, he’s like, ‘You’re just the best, so talented,’ And then they look at each other and then they just start making out.
The unscripted make-out scene was not included in the final cut. However, this was not the first time the Barbie star has kissed one of his male co-stars.
Will Ferrell Has Kissed His Male Co-stars Before
During his appearance on The Graham Norton show once, Ferrell revealed that during the filming of the 2017 movie Daddy’s Home 2, he kissed his co-star John Lithgow 30 times (via The Standard). Over the years, has also kissed other male co-workers during his on-screen appearances to add comedic effect.
In 2007, Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen won the MTV Award for Best Kiss for their kiss in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby during a climactic scene in a car race. They even recreated the scene while accepting the award on stage.
These are a few instances when the Drunk History star kissed his male co-stars uninhibited, to make the scenes memorable and comedic. As for the deleted make-out scene in The Boys, Kripke hinted that it might end up in a special feature or a compilation of deleted scenes, since there was a lot of material that didn’t make it to the final cut.
The Boys is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
