YouTuber/blogger Matt Jarbo recently talked about how Henry Cavill hasn’t put on the Superman suit in about five years, so Warner Bros. would obviously want a younger actor to star in a Superman reboot. This sparked a lot of debates on the internet regarding whether Henry Cavill, who is 39-years old, is too old to play Superman in the future DC movies.

Director Zack Snyder’s new social media post hints that Henry Cavill might return as Superman

In a post on Vero Man of Steel director Zack Snyder posted a picture of himself with Henry Cavill and also referred to the actor as his “future” Superman in the caption. Henry Cavill first starred in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel (2013) followed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). Then 2017’s Justice League and then finally in 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

It certainly seemed like Zack Snyder’s DC chapter came to an end. However, this post indicates that he might work with Henry Cavill once again for another Superman movie. The director’s currently working on his Army of the Dead franchise, along with his upcoming mega-project Rebel Moon. The Warner Bros. Discovery merger resulted in the cancellation of many TV series that focused on DC comic characters. Apparently, the Warner Bros. Discovery leadership is seeking a new leader to oversee DC Films just like Kevin Feige’s MCU at Marvel Studios.

Will Henry Cavill return as Superman?

There is actually a great possibility of Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman for 2023’s The Flash, as the presence of Ben Affleck’s Batman and Michael Shannon’s Zod is confirmed. Zack Snyder’s post, however, still does not confirm Henry Cavill’s return and fans still need to wait for a confirmation.
