NBA star recently revealed that he will not be sharing his $400M fortune with his children. The NBA legend, who has a massive net worth, also admits his children don’t understand his decision and it is not surprising. He also shared that as they are processing the news, they are not pleased with the decision.

Shaquille O’Neal shared in the Earn Your Leisure podcast,

“My kids are older now. They’re kinda upset with me. Not really upset, but they don’t understand,”

“I tell them all the time: ‘We ain’t rich. I’m rich. You gotta have bachelor’s or master’s [degrees], and then if you want me to invest in one of your companies, you’re going to have to present it, boom boom boom, bring it to me. I’ll let you know, I’m not giving you anything.”

Even though Shaquille O’Neal has amassed a massive amount with several endorsements and businesses, the sportsman is still a very down-to-earth person.

He shared in New York Post,  

“I came from nothing. But, just because I made it doesn’t mean I’m bigger than you, smarter than you – just because I have more money doesn’t mean I’m better than you.”

He added that he has never been selfish and arrogant and will never be that way ever. He shared that he wants his children to figure out their paths in life.

What Men Want actor insists that his children need to figure out their path in life. He said,

“Listen, I got six kids. I would like a doctor, somebody to own a hedge fund, a pharmacist, a lawyer, someone that owns multiple businesses, and someone to take over my business. But I tell them I’m not going to hand it to you. You gotta earn.”

O’Neal shared that he has seen an entrepreneurial spirit in his children and wants them to figure out their paths in life individually.
