5 Actresses Who Could Play Spider-Gwen
Things are different on Earth-65 as Gwen Stacy swapped places with Peter Parker to become the Spider-Woman or as commonly known as Spider-Gwen. Marvel editors wanted to bring her back especially after her death in The Amazing Spider-Man comic series. And when she had her debut in 2014, she gained many fans.
Then four years later, she made her debut in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (which was mind-blowing), and now that that MCU has introduced the multiverse, we can expect her debut sometime in the near future. Here are actresses who could rock Spider-Gwen’s character!
1. Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina gained stardom with her role as Maya Hart in Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World, but went on to focus more on her singing and Broadway work compared to films and TV acting in recent years. But her previous work showcases her confidence in working in front of the camera and she would not have any problem if she had to portray Spider-Gwen.
But that would totally depend on her personal choice if she is willing to give up her “full” dedication to music, for at least some time and tour around to meet the demands of Marvel Studios (and we have heard from Tom Holland as to how difficult it can get) Of course these things are to be considered and questioned by the casting director but nonetheless, she could be a great candidate for the part.
2. Millie Bobby Brown
Millie Bobby Brown has proved herself as Eleven in Stranger Things and she definitely is capable of starring in MCU. At such a young age, she had portrayed Eleven so brilliantly and she has been able to communicate such difficult scenes with her few stares.
Her presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Spider-Gwen would not only increase the fan base but would also take the film or that Disney+ series to the next level thanks to her amazing acting skills.
3. Chloë Grace Moretz
Chloë already has an amazing experience in films and has also portrayed a superhero in Kick-Ass as the Hit-Girl. Her work was so brilliant that she could actually be considered for Spider-Gwen keeping that role in the mind itself. But her other films can’t be ignored either including her work in Mother/Android; a Hulu original in which we see her transform from a party girl to a post-apocalyptic survivor of a robot uprising.
No matter what portrayal of Spider-Gwen they decide on, Moretz is capable of rising to her best and doing a splendid job with the character.
4. Sadie Sink
Netflix’s Stranger Things has given us some amazing talent, and Sadie Sink is one of them. Her red hair shouldn’t have a problem while portraying the character, considering wigs and dyes are pretty common in Hollywood.
She is just 19 and had already been a part of television and feature films, Broadway, and also fashion catwalk. She is versatile and can adapt to any role she is needed to. Her abilities would fit great with MCU and she would do great at Spider-Gwen.
5. Darby Camp
Darby is not exactly known compared to the other candidates, but then how many of us knew Tom Holland before his role in Spider-Man and oh how well he has flourished.
Darby has been a part of HBO drama Big Little Lies, has starred in The Christmas Chronicles and its sequel as Kate Pierce, and did an amazing job in Clifford the Big Red Dog. She is just 14 and could MCU could make the most out of her as Spider-Gwen for years to come; considering the character is here to stay for a long time.
