Chris Hemsworth is one of Hollywood’s most talented performers. He gained worldwide recognition for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Later the actor reprises the role in four future Avengers films and four movies in the Thor franchise. Although being part of MCU, Hemsworth does not always have a chance to see the latest films, but there was one recent entry in the franchise that particularly pleased him. The 39-year-old also shared his thoughts on the franchise’s latest movies.

Chris Hemsworth portrayed Thor in Marvel movies for almost a decade. He is among the original six and is loved by fans. The fourth installment in the Thor franchise, Thor: Love and Thunder came out last year and got mixed reviews from fans.

During an interview with British GQ, Hemsworth spoke about his views on the recent Marvel movies and how he found one recent entry in the franchise particularly pleasing. The 39-year-old stated that he saw Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and found it to be “really cool.”

The Thor star asked the GQ host about the next MCU film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as he didn’t get the chance to watch it. Hannah-Rose Yee wondered why they made it such a big topic. 

The Extraction actor said,

“That’s the trick: you have to separate all those stories. The moment it’s like, ‘Your world is in danger, the entire universe!’ It’s like, ‘Yeah, so [it] was the last 24 films.’ It has to become a bit more personal and grounded.” 

The Australian actor pointed out that MCU movie needs the value of “more personal and grounded” stories. He mentioned two most well-liked MCU films in recent memory. In May Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 presented the story of one set of heroes only trying to save their friend touching personal value. While Wakanda Forever focused on Letitia Wright’s Shuri and the whole Wakandan country mourning the death of T’Challa.

Hemsworth first picked up Mjölnir for Thor in 2011, followed by Thor: The Dark World in 2013, Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, and then Thor: Love and Thunder in 2022.

Chris Hemsworth is set to star in Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road. The actor will play the villainous Warlord Dementus in the film. George Miller is back in charge, and he cast the Marvel star to play the enigmatic antagonist. 

After spending a considerable amount of time portraying Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor discussed his approach to the character as “a bearded biker warlord.” The actor, during the interview, shared his experience of working on the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel, titled Furiosa, as he called it his best filming experience.

The actor said,

“Week one of the rehearsals with George Miller, all of a sudden it was this reigniting of my creative energy. By far the best experience of my career, and something I feel the most proud of. It made me think, the work isn’t what’s exhausting, it’s what kind of work it is, and how invested I am in it and if it is challenging in the right ways.”

Furiosa is set to be released in theaters on May 24, 2024
