The makers took months to craft the scene shown in the newly released clip for Denis Villeneuve‘s sequel to Dune, which was adapted from Frank Herbert’s novel. Dune 2 will also feature more screentime for Chani, as fans expressed immense dissatisfaction with Zendaya’s limited role in part one. The first trailer for Dune 2 came out in last year’s May, followed by this new clip months after.
The Sandworm in Dune 2 Will Decide Paul’s Fate in The Universe

After watching the clip and hearing the main actors talking about the intensity of the film and the sandworm scene, it comes with immense significance in deciding Paul’s fate. At the end of the first film, we see Chalamet’s Paul being adopted into Stilgar’s tribe, but before they consider him as a true prophesied Lisan al Gaib, Paul should succeed in riding the sandworm.
This intense scene has undeniably intrigued fans about Paul’s fate, and we hope that he excels in the process of proving himself. And considering the words of the newly joined Butler and Pugh, Dune 2 is also expected to feature flawless visual effects. According to the sequel’s logline, Paul Atreides will have his own ‘Sophie’s Choice’ between his love and the unknown fate of the universe.
Dune 2 will hit theatres on March 1, 2024.
