Marvel’s Daredevil is a smash-hit American show created by Drew Goddard for the OTT mogul Netflix. It is probably the most acclaimed TV show from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has a strong following. Its popularity and potential to become a blockbuster drove Disney to buy the rights from Netflix, and the show was added to Disney+. Now Daredevil: Born Again is being cooked at Marvel Studios and fans cannot keep calm.

Despite its second season being criticized for a myriad of reasons, fans have a strong liking for the show. In a recent tweet, many fans discussed how, given Marvel’s current content catastrophe, even Daredevil Season 2 looks infinitely better in comparison.

Fans Claim The Worst Daredevil Season Is Still Better Than Most MCU Shows

Marvel’s Daredevil is one of the most well-made shows of all time but the first season was a hard act to follow. Despite having all the materials for success, like a strong foundation laid by season 1 and introducing heavy-hitting characters like The Punisher and Elektra Natchios, the second season fell short of everyone’s expectations. The writers were tasked with balancing two storylines to set up The Defenders and they had a visibly hard time trying to do justice to all its elements. It almost suffered through the same problem as Age of Ultron, which had to set up for a huge event while adapting a massive storyline with a huge existing cast.

Even the season’s main antagonist, The Hand, did not fly well with the audience. Many wanted the season to focus on the clashes and complexities of the relationship between Matt Murdock and Frank Castle. The Hand and his faceless ninja clans just did not work the way the creators had imagined. It was not developed well and was directionless, to say the least, where even the show after a point stopped developing the arc.

However, Marvel is well past its glory days, as many would say, and for fans, even the most criticized second season of Daredevil seems like gold now because of the atrocious calamities that Marvel has bestowed upon its audience since the Avengers saga ended. With the probable exception of Loki, almost all Marvel shows and movies are heavily criticized. Case in point: She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Hawkeye, The Marvels, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania—the list is never-ending.

X user Shadow Knight posted how Daredevil season 2, being the worst season of the show, still excels most MCU Disney+ shows and fans are vigorously nodding in support. Check out some of the reactions below.

Even though many think that season 2 was rather disappointing, it is mostly because the show is extremely well made, especially the first season. Any deviation from that great ideal would feel like a slump. To be honest, the second half of season 2 could definitely use some work but it is still overall better than most of the content Marvel Mill is churning out these days. Even Disney CEO Bob Iger had to take a step back to reconsider the position of Disney and MCU’s output and prioritize quality over quantity. One can hope Daredevil: Born Again will be able to sweep the fans off their feet.

Previously, speaking with ScreenRant, Deborah Woll said she misses her character. It was previously reported that the characters would be excluded from the show. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reviewed the whole show and decided it needed to take a different creative journey, which is why Sneider says they are bringing back these characters again.
