Brie Larson’s Medical Condition Forced MCU to Pump Money into Unnecessary CGI in Upcoming $500M Movie
Brie Larson’s entry into the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe happened with Captain Marvel in 2019. The actor played the titular character and went on to reprise her character in the various installments of the MCU franchise like- Avengers: Endgame and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

This impacted the filming of a Marvel movie too.

Brie Larson’s upcoming MCU venture The Marvels would see the American actor once again all suited up in the Captain Marvel suit. This time she would be accompanied by Monica Rambeau played by actor Teyonah Parris and Miss Marvel played by Iman Vellani. Captain Marvel’s feline friend Goose, an alien Flerken also has a significant role in the upcoming movie.
The Marvel star has a major cat allergy and has to maintain a safe distance from cats. All her scenes with goose were a by-product of CGI. According to the website Fickoncklick, The Marvels is made on an estimated budget of $500 million, which went on to increase due to the medical condition of Brie Larson.
During an interview with the media outlet Entertainment Weekly, the Avengers actor confessed about maintaining a safe distance from her cute co-star. She said-
“I’m still allergic. I hope that changes. But until it does, a lot of the CGI budget goes towards me and the cat.”

According to the latest trailer of The Marvels, multiple cats have been a part of the esteemed project. The executive producer of the MCU movie said-
“The crew was delighted whenever the kittens were around. It was like Christmas when we had our bigger kitten scenes. Everyone had their own favorite.”
Brie Larson’s medical condition affected the budget of the Marvel project.
Brie Larson On Her Upcoming MCU Movie The Marvels
The Marvels is the 33rd project from the MCU and the movie features actor Brie Larson reprising the character of Captain Marvel. She would be seen along with her two co-stars Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani in the upcoming movie. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Brie Larson spoke about The Marvels and mentioned-
“The first one was the origin story of who she is. Now it’s digging into some of the complexities. That there is much more to her than that, that there are parts that are not so great about her. That we can see a hero as being a person that doesn’t make every right decision all the time,”

The Marvels is a sequel to the 2019 released movie, Captain Marvel. While talking about her Disney+ short film Remembering and the documentary series Growing Up, the actor said-
“I am so lucky that I get to play pretend with my job. The fact that I’m an actor came from me being a small child and saying it to my mom. I feel like sitting here on this couch talking about these projects is honoring this inner child inside of me. I have a very vivid interior world and it’s something that I’ve cultivated and is very special to me,”
Brie Larson’s The Marvels is expected to release on November 10, 2023.
