In the HBO documentary Phoenix Rising, Wood claimed that Manson has been a domestic abuser during their relationship. Back in February 2021, she had publicly named Manson as her alleged abuser in an Instagram post sharing that he “horrifically abused [her] for years” while she was being “brainwashed and manipulated” by him. On the very same day, four other women also came forward and accused the musician of sexual and physical violence, as well as mental, physical, and emotional abuse. As per the reports by Rolling Stone, at least 16 women publicly made allegations against Manson. Though, the musician has denied the allegations, while filing a defamation lawsuit against her ex-partner.

During an interview with the Daily Telegraph, she shared, “I always cling to the same thought that evil never wins, it just never dies. For all the bad that we see in the world, there is just as much good as well. I have some hope.” She continued, Having said that, I’m also terrified, but I definitely have hope.”
