Henry Cavill is one of the contenders for the character of 007. Recently, in an interview with Total Film, he stated that he does not think that him playing a spy in his upcoming film Argylle is going to reduce his chances of being cast as Bond.

“It’s a fun character. Whether I’m ruled out of Bond because of this or not is up to Barbara Broccoli and Mr. Wilson.”

Barbara Broccoli and Mr. Wilson form the producing duo that is working on the next James Bond movie. This is not the first Cavill has been in talks about playing the role. He was one of the final choices for the character in 2005, but the producers starred Daniel Craig for the role because they wanted an older Bond.
