Jennifer Garner Is All Praise For Reese Witherspoon
It looks like the 13 Going On 30 actor has become unstoppable on her professional front. The 50-year-old actor Jennifer Garner is promoting her TV series The Last Thing He Told Me which is based on the novel by Laura Grace. She is playing the character of Hannah in the series.
While promoting the newly launched Apple TV series, The Last Thing He Told Me on The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was all praises for Reese Witherspoon. She went on to talk about how the Walk The Line actor has created her own empire and encouraged her to create her own projects. Jennifer Garner said-
“Honestly, Reese is behind that, she has really pushed me. She said to me a few years ago, ‘Nobody is sitting around thinking, what can I shoot in L.A. that’s going to have a 50-year-old woman in it?’ She’s like, ‘You’ve got to create your own stuff,” the actor said. “All women in this town owe a debt of gratitude to Reese.”
Reese Witherspoon is currently going through a legal separation from her ex-husband Jim Toth after 12 years of togetherness. The Legally Blonde also shares a son with her ex-husband.
According to the rumors, Julia Roberts was supposed to play the lead in the series- The Last Thing He Told Me. Jennifer Garner spoke about her character Hannah and how she is totally different from her. The actor said-
“Hannah and I are quite different but there was something about her that just really spoke to me. I feel like she is the ultimate hero of her own story, she’s fighting for own optimism and that is something that I could really relate to,” the actor explained. “The idea also of becoming a parent and when you are a parent, you still have to fall in love with your kids over and over again; they keep changing, they shift, and you just find new ways to love them, new ways they expand your heart in new and different ways all the time. To watch Hannah go through that process in real time was really exciting for me.”
The first episode of The Last Thing He Told Me premiered on April 14 on Apple TV+.
Jennifer Garner’s Kids Don’t Watch Her Movies
Jennifer Garner is a phenomenal actor. The actor was previously married to the talented producer, actor, and director Ben Affleck. The actor opened up about her kids and how they simply do not like watching her movies. While talking to InStyle during the promotion of The Last Thing He Told Me, the actor went on to say-
“My kids don’t love to watch me in things. They do to be supportive, but I think it’s a little weird to watch your mom kiss someone or cry,” she explained – It’s different.”
However, this is not the same for their father, the Gone Girl actor. The actor confessed that her kids watch their father Ben Affleck’s work. She said-
“They don’t mind watching their dad. They don’t want to see me sad, and they don’t want to see me in a romance. They don’t love seeing me play someone else’s mom, honestly. I don’t know if they’ll watch this.”
Previously, Ben Affleck had spoken about his kids in an interview that they like to watch movies like Armageddon, so they can make fun of him whether he played the role of an astronaut or an oil driller.
