Following the whole controversy where Katy Perry mom-shamed a contestant named Sara Beth Liebe, things have escalated since then. It all happened when Liebe was auditioning and the judges including Perry came to know about her age. Out of everything, the California Girls singer’s remark made everyone feel she had somehow criticized Liebe. Following that the 25-year-old contestant shared via TikTok that she was not ashamed and neither regretted being a young mom. However, in the latest installment of the show, she seems to have decided to leave and be at home with her kids.

It all happened when 25-year-old Sara Beth Liebe came to audition for American Idol. However, more than anything what led the judges in shock was when the young woman revealed her age and that she was already a mother of three. Also, the judges express how Liebe appeared much younger than her age therefore the fact that she was a mother of three automatically sent them into a great shock.
However, it all went wrong when Katy Perry commented after Lie expressed her happiness at meeting the Fireworks hitmaker. Perry immediately fired back saying,
“Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much!”
Naturally, some people thought it was an insensitive response and the whole thing quickly became a controversy. Many criticized the singer for mom-shaming the contestant. At the same time, some fans defended Perry saying her remark had only been a joke. one said, “She DID NOT shame her!!” while another pointed out,

The mother of three reasoned that she did not feel “cut out” for the show. However, Perry also did her best to encourage Liebe to stay on the show and not give up on her potential. “So I’m gonna get home to my babies, they kind of need me. So thank you, thanks.”
So after everything, Liebe felt “show business ” was not for her and that her heart belonged in her home.
