One of the most infamous court cases in Hollywood’s history is the defamation case involving Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. The actors were affected both personally and professionally by the court proceedings, allegations, supporting evidence, and the decision.

Depp received justice, but Heard missed out on significant film opportunities. The actress took a break and temporarily moved to Spain.

Depp, 59, was found not guilty after winning the defamation case, he had brought against the Drive Angry actress.

While Heard’s situation grew more challenging as a result of the ongoing online harassment she experienced. The 36-year-old actress has kept a low profile since losing the trial, but as per recent reports, she is determined to revive her acting career again.

The jury found Amber Heard guilty on all three counts of defamation, about her 2018 op-ed about coming forward with abuse allegations. The trial reached its decision on June 1 following a contentious, live-televised six-week trial that generated considerable controversy.

In Aquaman, the actress played, Queen Mera, opposite Jason Momoa, who played the title character. But things became complicated during the Depp-Heard trial. She claimed that after her ex-husband accused her of lying about domestic abuse, the franchise’s creators fired her. According to Depp’s team, it was because of his connections with the producers that she initially received the role.

After this, the Aquaman production team finally revealed the reason for the actress’ replacement, considering that, they didn’t think her chemistry with Momoa was compelling. Amber Heard, according to recent reports from PEOPLE, is now prepared to “focus on things that she loves.”

The actress has cut herself off from Hollywood and the rest of the country ever since the six-week trial, which was broadcast live. Heard, along with her daughter, Oonagh Paige, packed up her belongings and relocated to Spain, claimed the insider.

She Was ‘Mistreated’ During The Defamation Trial

Amber Heard made her last acting appearance in James Wan’s Aquaman. She was reportedly set to reprise her role in the upcoming, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, but due to legal complications involving Johnny Depp’s trial, the duration of her role was reportedly reduced.

Despite her professional downfall, the actress is now eager to restart her career. The Zombieland actress has left for Spain in search of greater privacy because “The trial was beyond stressful for her,” a source told People. 

The source also informed People that Heard “has been living in Spain, where she gets more privacy,” and that she “couldn’t wait to leave the U.S. with her daughter. She just wanted to start fresh out of the country.

The source further mentioned that Amber Heard was prepared to put her past behind her and start over professionally. “This is all behind her now, though. She has new energy and is focused on things that she loves.” 

It’s unclear when or with which movie the 36-year-old actress will make a comeback.

On the other hand, “focused on work,” Depp will soon be making a comeback with the French film, Jeanne Du Barry.
