Johnny Galecki, who is popularly known as Leonard from The Big Bang Theory mentions his connection with one of the episodes of the show. Season 1, episode 6 of The Big Bang Theory- The Middle Earth Paradigm, was about Halloween. In that particular episode, he was dressed up as a hobbit at the Halloween party of Penny. The character tries to portray that he can also be a part of Penny’s social circle. His character Leonard has an encounter with Penny’s ex Kurt.
In Author Jessica Radloff’s book The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, Johnny Galecki mentioned how that one scene brought back his school time memories. He even went on to mention, that particular scene helped him understand Leonard in a much better way.
Johnny Galecki says-
“Him picking me up as Leonard really affected me to the point where I think I cried after we shot the episode. … it really dug up some old schoolyard stuff for me,” he admitted. “I had a way into Leonard and really began to understand him,”
The bullying scene between Johnny Galecki and Brian Patrick Wade brought out more shades to the character of Leonard. The Big Bang Theory also comes under the list of most-watched series.
How Did The Big Bang Theory Become So Popular?
The CBS show ranked number one during its eleventh season. After a certain period of time, The Big Bang Theory became so popular that the studio was looking forward to paying $1 million for each episode. The perfect ensemble cast and a very out-of-the-box plot made the sitcom popular.
In an interview with Vulture, the protagonist of the show Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons went on to say-
“People have so many choices on TV now, so no one’s asking for you to marry us,” he said. “You can enjoy our show without a weekly appointment.”
According to Jim Parsons, the episodic nature was one of the reasons behind the show’s success. Each episode was different from another. The audience did not have to keep a tab of events to watch the show.
