In conversation with People Magazine at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy, Heard shared her views on In the Fire saying:

“The film is a meditation on the almost supernatural powers of love told through a strong-willed and independent woman at the turn of the 20th century.”

Heard’s way of presenting the film has inspired intrigue. With this film, she has made it clear that she has arrived and is as ambitious as ever about her goals.

The film is a big deal for Heard as it marks her return to her craft. Moreover, the actress is proud of the work she has put into this film. Playing a nuanced character in a story as complex as this is a great opportunity for Heard to start cementing her position in the industry again.

Talking more about the film during the interview, Heard said,

“I feel honored to be part of this labor of love and to be the lead in [director] Conor Allyn’s vision. I feel lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing cast. They’re as dedicated and magical as the characters they play. It is about the boundaries that love can cross and its creation, and really about the overwhelming power that love has. I don’t want to sound cheesy about it, but it’s a movie about love.”

In the Fire is currently in theatres and will be available digitally from October 13.

Moreover, Heard will also resume her role as Mera in DC’s Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, which will be released this December.
