Tom Hiddleston has recently been in the spotlight due to his relationship with Zawe Ashton. The actor who plays Loki in the MCU was rumored to have been engaged with Zawe after the actress was seen wearing a ring on the 2022 BAFTAs red carpet. The actress, who is also a part of the MCU and will appear as Ael-Dan, a Kree general in The Marvels, attended the BAFTAs with Tom Hiddleston and the two walked hand-in-hand on the carpet. As it turns out, the actor has now confirmed the engagement in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times.
Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton are engaged
The duo met while working on the 2019 West End revival of Betrayal, a play written by Harold Pinter. In the play, Hiddleston and Ashton played the role of a married couple, Robert and Emma, whose relationship is upended by her affair with his close friend Jerry, who was played by MCU’s Daredevil himself, Charlie Cox. When asked about the engagement, the actor has very little to say, “I’m very happy.” The actor has previously talked about how he likes keeping his public and private life separate, and perhaps this is why he did not elaborate on his relationship with Ashton. However, the statement is a confirmation that the two are indeed engaged and possibly planning on getting married soon.

The actor also talked about Loki’s bisexuality and said,
“In my research into the character and the ancient stories, Loki’s identity has always been fluid in his gender and sexuality. It was a privilege to touch on it this time. I’m aware it’s a small step and there’s further to go, but I hope that people felt represented by it.”
It is no doubt that things are going well for the British actor, both professionally and personally. Moreover, the second season of Loki has also started filming in England, allowing the actor to play the mischievous characters once again.
