There have been numerous TikTok videos about Britney Spears’ whereabouts since December 2022. Fans speculated on where Spears was and what she was up to in these videos. Some videos claimed she had died, while others claimed she was using a body double. All of these rumors about the singer have been dark and disturbing.
There were many whispers surrounding the 41-year-old singer’s health issues, which eventually made her snap. Spears came out and grilled the people and media outlets who were sharing this news.
Britney Spears said Enough is Enough
#WHEREISBRITNEY was a trending hashtag used by fans to come up with fan theories about Britney Spears’ life and whereabouts. The media and fans’ speculations became so dark and unacceptable that the Toxic singer had to issue a statement to stop people from spreading more false information. When there were numerous untrue reports about her health and some even claimed that she was dead, the singer posted on her Instagram account about how terrible she felt about people spreading such lies. The Inside Out singer wrote,
“It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough !!!I’m probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish me well !!!
She further added,
“I’m honestly not surprised at all… Again doing the best I can !!! Again, the conservatorship has been over for almost a year. No folks, it’s not 2007 … it’s 2023 and I’m making my first homemade lasagna at home !!! I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room !!! As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read !!! All that love right back at ya !!!”
Even after Spears criticized her fans for their wild speculations about her personal life and stated that she is fine, some fans still reportedly believed there was something wrong with the Perfume singer.
Some fan theories claim that Britney Spears was editing her images
There were fan theories that Spears and her husband Sam Asghari weren’t getting along after their wedding. This speculation arose again in late 2022 when the couple was seen posting pictures of themselves together. Fans claimed that Spears was using Photoshop, and editing pictures to make herself appear to be out and about in public.
Perez Hilton, an American columnist known for covering gossip about Hollywood celebrities, stated that fans’ concerns about Spears are justified. He also stated, “Things are bad.” Hilton said that many fan theories were incorrect and off the mark. He added, “Your concern is warranted, but when the truth comes out you will all be surprised.” Hilton created curiosity amongst fans when he said that he knows something that Spears has been reported about.
