Michael B. Jordan Allegedly Trying to Avoid Jonathan Majors After He Got Arrested Over Physical Assault Charges
Creed III set a number of records on its way to becoming one of the best sports movies of all time. The public embraced Michael B. Jordan’s debut film as a director, and viewers also admired all of the film’s characters. In the film, Jonathan Majors portrayed the antagonist, Damian Anderson. And thanks to his splendid performance in the film, he was able to leave an impression on the audience. The movie is still being talked about among fans despite it having been in theaters for almost a month.
Most recently, Michael B. Jordan asked his followers on Instagram which scenes they thought were their favorites while posting a series of images. However, it seems that Majors’ absence from the gallery of photos Jordan shared caught the interest of fans.
Jordan’s post is noteworthy because it follows the recent domestic violence controversy involving Majors.
According to reports, Majors was detained on March 25 in New York on suspicion of strangulation, assault, and harassment.
Is Michael B. Jordan Ignoring Jonathan Majors?
Asking fans to vote for their favorite scenes, Michael B. Jordan posted a series of images, taken on the Creed III set. This action is as neutral as it can be. But the movie scenes were not the fans’ primary concern. They noticed the absence of Jonathan Majors from the pictures posted by the director.
This Instagram post by Jordan came following the recent domestic violence controversy involving the Devotion actor. According to reports, Majors was detained in NYC last month, following reports of domestic violence. The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor was allegedly charged with second-degree harassment and third-degree attempted assault.
Fans believe that this controversy played a role in Jordan’s decision to leave Majors out of the photos that were posted. Last month, a picture of Jordan and Majors from the movie’s success party went viral on social media.
Jordan was criticized for acting as though Majors wasn’t even in the film by a user, who pointed out Majors’ absence. “Lol, not a single shot includes Jonathan Majors,” he wrote. “Bro [Michael B. Jordan] pretending he [Jonathan Majors] isn’t even in the movie after the news broke.”
Jonathan Majors Charged for Assault
Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor, Jonathan Majors was detained by the NYC PD on suspicion of physical assault charges, and harassment following a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman.
She reportedly suffered minor head and neck injuries. Majors was charged with several offenses the following day, including attempted assault and aggravated harassment. The severe charges are thus, proving to have a significant effect on the actors’ career and reputation.
However, those accusations were refuted by a Majors representative, who wrote in an email to the AP, “He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
Jonathan Majors is supposed to appear in court on May 8.
In the meantime, the American Army has put a halt to its television ad campaign starring Majors. The U.S. Army is “deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest,” according to a statement released by the Army Enterprise Marketing Office.
Jonathan Michael Majors is one of the fastest-rising actors in the industry. He made his name after starring in The Last Black Man in 2019. Since then, he has appeared in several hits including, Da 5 Bloods, The Harder They Fall, and Devotion.
He will also appear in Magazine Dreams, a recent Sundance Film Festival entry that Searchlight Pictures will release in December 2023.
