The Cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians

While Rick Riordan had promised fans that this series would do justice to the book series by staying true to it, netizens were not too impressed with his casting choices. The cast was made to be inclusive according to the policies of Disney+, which is the only platform where the series can be streamed.

The book series written by Rick Riordan follows the titular demigod hero and his two friends, demigod Annabeth Chase and satyr Grover Underwood, on their journey to protect the world from being destroyed by the Titans, led by Kronos. While the role of the lead character is played by Walker Scobell in the series, Leah Sava Jeffries portrays Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood.

Other actors that will be seen in the series are Glynn Turman in the role of Chiron, the centaur who trains heroes at Camp Half-Blood. In the beginning, he is introduced as Percy’s Latin teacher Mr. Brunner. Another very beloved character of the fans is Percy Jackson’s mother Sally Jackson, portrayed by Little Big Lies fame Virginia Kull.

A long list of actors will appear in the series as different characters from the book. Rest assured, the fans will hopefully not get the chance to complain this time considering that Rick Riordan is the series’ creator.

Initially, Rick Riordan was skeptical about returning to Hollywood for another adaptation of his best-selling novel series. Talking to Deadline about his, executive producer Jon Steinberg said:

“A lot of the conversation early on was really about trying to articulate a plan for how to do it in the right way and how to do it in a way where, by the end of it, Rick and Becky could watch it and feel proud of it. It’s easy to say, and I think we knew it was easy to say at the beginning, but I think there was a real commitment made to making sure that nothing was going to happen on the show that didn’t feel like it belonged in the Percy Jackson universe to them.”

Thankfully, they have the approval of the audience now. There have already been discussions about the making of a second season so hopefully, fans will not have to wait too long for it.
