Talking about playing Ken in the titular film Ryan Gosling said,
“I have to be honest, I had up until this point, I only knew Ken from afar. I didn’t know Ken from within. If I’m being really honest, I doubted my Ken energy. I didn’t see it. Margot and Greta, I feel like they conjured this out of me somewhere.”
Gosling continued,
“One day, I was bleaching my hair and shaving my legs and wearing bespoke neon outfits and rollerblading down Venice Beach. It came on like a fever, like a Scarlet fever. Like, why is there fake tanner on my sheets? Why am I wearing jackets without shirts? What just happened.”
In the latest interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ryan Gosling revealed why he agreed to play Ken in Barbie. The Notebook movie actor said,
“Best script I’ve ever read. I walk out in the backyard and, do you know where I found Ken, Jimmy? Face down in the mud next to a squished lemon.”

“I shall be your Ken, for this story must be told.”

Ryan Gosling said,
“It was kind of depressing because when I got there, they realized that I wasn’t really up to snuff in comparison with what some of the other kids were able to do. I remember one time they put four of us in a dance routine, but I was so off. I was on the end, so they just pushed the shot in closer on the other three guys to frame me out. I would just come in at the beginning of the show and then come back at the end, and occasionally I’d have a sketch here or there, but I didn’t end up working that much, which was disheartening.”
He continued,
“There was a guy there named Matt Casella, who we really owe it all. But I didn’t end up working as much as I wanted to on the show, so I had a lot of free time, which I ended up spending in the Disney World park itself. It was interesting as a kid to go backstage to the commissary, and to see all of the people who were playing the characters with their heads off next to them while they were eating lunch.”
Gosling said he hates watching his own films. The actor explained,
“I hate it because there’s no way that a film can capture in two hours the experience of making it, so it’s always disappointing in some way. The thing that’s so exciting when you’re making a film is that it can be anything and there are no limitations on it. So I do have to remind myself that most people watching the film weren’t involved in making it, so they don’t really know what’s missing.”
Ryan Gosling is currently in a relationship with Eva Mendes, and the couple shares two beautiful daughters. Gosling is a tremendous actor who demonstrated extraordinary resilience, and due to his charming personality, he has won millions of fans worldwide.
