‘This was a big deal’: Shakira Sacrificed Her $350M Career To Live With Pique in Spain, a Decade Later Pique Cheated on Shakira With Clara Chia Marti – a Woman Half Her Age
The Queen of Latin Music, Shakira has a successful career and is one of the Latino singers that extended their native music globally. Even after making global success, she chose her family over her career and settle down with her now ex-beau, Gerard Pique. What she was unaware of was her then-partner, who would cheat on her even after her career sacrifice. The former couple had ended more than a decade-long relationship in June this year after the reports of the Barcelona footballer being unfaithful to his then-beau surfaced.
They share two children, Milan and Sasha however never really tied the knot. Having gone through a shocking split, the former pair is now engaged in the legal custody of their children. According to the singer, she had been going through the “darkest” phase of her life and even revealed how she sacrificed her career over her beau.
Shakira Kept Her Career in Second Gear To Support Her Then-Beau Gerard Pique

The 45-year-old, Shakira in an interview with Elle shared how she had gone to extreme lengths just to save her relationship with Barcelona defender Gerard Pique. The singer explained how she used to have a “nomadic life” before her kids started going to school though she knew she had to settle at a place for her kids.
She shared how the two had to decide their future which eventually turned in the favor of Pique as he wanted to continue his career. Belonging to completely different professions, they had to choose their relationship and kids.
She shared, “As a soccer player, he wanted to play football and win titles and I had to support him. I mean, one of the two of us had to make a sacrifice, right?”
So, the singer put her career on hold. “And I did it. I put my career in second gear and I came to Spain, to support him so he could play football and win titles. And it was a sacrifice of love,” the singer told the magazine.
Though she added that she did not regret her decision only because of her kids as they developed a great bond with each other.
However, taking note of what Pique did, she explained it as her “darkest” phase due to her former beau dating somebody when he was with the singer.
Gerard Pique Started Dating Clara Chia Marti
Though the singer sacrificed her successful career to settle down with Pique, he turned out to be a real player as he cheated on the Hips Don’t Lie singer to date his new beau, Clara Chia Marti. They have an age difference of around 12 years as the latter is 23 years old.
They went official just a few months after the former couple announced their separation. They were snapped PDA during Dani Martin’s concert in Spain in August. As per the reports by Papparazzi Jordi Martin, the new couple had been dating each other “for many, many months, about a year.”
Marti reportedly works under Pique’s company Kosmos who met while working together at events. They had been quite close to each other with the new reports claiming that the footballer is planning for a third child with his new beau.
The former couple is engaged in the custody battle of their kids as both of them have different plans regarding their stay with the kids.
