Tom Cruise has his next big movie, Mission: Impossible 7 all set for release. The action spy film is produced and directed by Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise has great expectations from the next installment of the franchise. However, it seems that the competitive threat is posing a bit of a problem for Cruise’s film. The reason for his worry is Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious project, Oppenheimer. With the release date overlapping, it will be a big screen clash and also a tough choice for the fans.

All About Tom Cruise’s Upcoming Movie Mission: Impossible 7

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is the upcoming American action spy film. It is the sequel to Mission: Impossible – Fallout and the seventh addition to the Mission: Impossible film series. The sequel to it  Dead Reckoning Part Two, is already on the cards and will be released on June 28, 2024.

Mission: Impossible franchise has not just given us some of the best action films but has also been a crucial turning point in Tom Cruise’s career. Cruise also helped in bringing the franchise to life in 1996 by starring in the first Mission: Impossible film as Ethan Hunt. The franchise also gave room for Tom Cruise’s debut as a producer and he occupied a central role in the creative lane of filmmaking. It helped Cruise to secure his success in the coming years in good as well as bad ways.

Tom Cruise also said that earlier he was very skeptical regarding sequels but then in the case of Mission: Impossible, he found out creative ways to bring out sequels and also involved different directors for each installment.

In one of his interviews, he shared his thoughts,

“It’s a challenge for me. It’s a logistical challenge, it’s an artistic challenge. We’re working on the highest level actually because you have practical action. And how do we develop these stories, how do we develop these characters? What is the dialogue going to be with the audience? I make movies for audiences so I want to know what is their response going to be? How can I improve it, how can I make it better? How will these stories evolve? And then I kind of came up with the idea of different directors for each one.”

Why Is Tom Cruise Pissed With Mission: Impossible 7 Release Date?

As per the latest reports, Tom Cruise is quite upset with the schedule for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’s theatrical release dates. The Tom Cruise starring Paramount Pictures Mission: Impossible 7 is supposed to run on North American IMAX screens with the premiere on July 12.

The catch is that just nine days later Universal’s upcoming film, Oppenheimer – directed by Christopher Nolan will be debuting in theatres and is supposed to run on all IMAX screens for three full weeks until mid-August. Oppenheimer has a rich star cast with Robert Downey Jr. and Cillian Murphy in lead roles. This clash is predicted to severely hit MI7’s run in the very second week itself. Apparently, Cruise is extremely frustrated with this clash as his previous release Top Gun: Maverick turned out to be a mega-hit and the star has similar expectations from the upcoming release.

The situation has got Tom Cruise all the more worried because Nolan extends great support to IMAX and his movie Oppenheimer was exclusively shot with IMAX large-format cameras and Universal had booked this release date in 2021 way before Mission: Impossible did it in 2022.
