The Reason Why Dwayne Johnson Returned for Fast X
Dwayne Johnson is one of the famously recognizable figures in the entertainment industry. He is an American actor, film producer, and former professional wrestler who has established his career with his backbreaking work.
Johnson has worked with ace directors in several films and has earned top billings making him one of the world’s highest-grossing actors in showbiz. According to the latest reports, Dwayne Johnson’s infamous feud with Vin Diesel has the internet talking once again. Johnson is officially back with a cameo in the Fast and Furious franchise’s latest installment Fast X.
The feud between Vin Diesel and The Rock became public in 2016. The commercially successful franchise began in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious, starring late actor Paul Walker and Diesel. The Mummy Returns star joined the franchise with Fast Five as DSS Agent Luke Hobbs in 2011. However, during the shooting, the two Hollywood icons clashed which eventually caused Johnson to step down from the Fast franchise.
Vin Diesel Asked Dwayne Johnson To return In Fast and Furious Franchise
According to reports, the Bloodshot star shared a lengthy post in 2021 and urged his co-star Johnson to return for the finale of Fast 10. Diesel wrote,
“As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes, but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo (Paul Walker). I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale, that is 10! I say this out of love, but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important; role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.”
One month later his post, Dwayne Johnson revealed in an interview that he was shocked to see Diesel’s post and called it his part of the manipulation. He said,
“This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly — and privately — that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast; and always root for the franchise to be successful but that there was no chance I would return.”
Earlier this month, during the Fast X world premiere in Rome, Vin Diesel seemingly announced the news of Fast and Furious 12, which is currently in the works. Meanwhile, The Wrap has reported that Dwayne Johnson’s Fast and Furious franchise return is confirmed, and he will reprise his role of Luke Hobbs in the post-credits scene of the upcoming film Fast X.
