TV/Film Co-Stars With Incredible Onscreen Chemistry But Cannot Tolerate Each Other In Real Life
We have often seen the co-stars refer to each other as a second family or sometimes even fall in love. We assume that the sets of the films are happy places, lots of free food, getting paid extremely well for doing what you love.
But that is sadly not the case every time. There are many famous co-stars who just can’t tolerate each other despite having bomb chemistry on the screen.
1. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams
Yes, they both went to date each other, however, as per The Notebook director aka Nick Cassavetes, the duo couldn’t stand each other on the set. But they both took a break and set things straight privately. And things did get better or so.
2. Jennifer Aniston and Jay Mohr
Jennifer Aniston was not pleased that Jay beat out her (then) boyfriend Tate Donovan to her “on screen” lover in the film; Picture Perfect. Mohr was very vocal about it and was of the opinion that she should have taken out her anger on the studio who made this choice instead of on him.
He told ELLE in an interview in 2010, that was one of the worst filming experiences for him. He said that Jennifer would go and say, “No way! You’ve got to be kidding me!” that too loudly between the takes to the other actors present. That made him feel so bad that he would go to his mom’s house and cry.
3. Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment
The so-called on-screen BFFS from Hannah Montana weren’t able to maintain that bond off-screen. Miley revealed in her memoir Miles to Go, that she and Emily didn’t get along well.
The show was very important to her and felt real so she wanted to have a real relationship with her on-screen friend to feel real too. But she stated the duo couldn’t figure out how to get along. However, thankfully they both have worked on their differences and are friends today.
4. Jerome Flynn and Lena Headey
Game of Thrones ran for 8 seasons. But have you noticed that not for once have Jerome Flynn and Lena Headey shared the screen?
They both were dating and had an ugly break up and as a result, they were not on speaking terms and didn’t want to work together. They weren’t even on speaking terms and wouldn’t even share the same room at the same time.
5. Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley
For the first five months of the filming of Vampire Diaries, Nina said on a podcast that she and Welsey couldn’t stand each other. She said she respected him, just didn’t like him.
But they are great friends today. And she went on to say that she loves his wife and they all are really good friends.
6. Blake Lively and Leighton Meester
This might disappoint the Gossip Girl fans since everyone’s favorite duo aren’t as close as we expected them to be. The duo had a “strained” relationship and the long working days on the set could be blamed for the same.
As per a source, Leighton thought Blake was an egomaniac who thinks her time on the TV is just going way too slow, while Blake felt too suffocated and she chose to ignore her co-stars as she thought there were much better things to do.
When this was questioned, Blake’s publicist didn’t even try to hide anything and went on to say that the duo has never been best friends and probably would never be.
7. Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp
These actors couldn’t really start well on the set of their film The Tourist (2010). Their chemistry was predicted to be blockbuster but in real life, they didn’t get along well.
As per sources, she was very disappointed that he didn’t try to get in a better shape for the role and didn’t want to cut his hair either. He would go in his trailer and come when he was called out.
