Jeremy Renner Was Dragged Under A Snowplow While Rescuing His Nephew
The Marvel Studios star, Renner, who was hospitalized on January 1st, shared with investigators that the incident began on New Year’s Day when he cleared his nephew’s truck that was trapped in snow from his driveway.
On that day, Renner tried to prevent his snowplow from sliding into his grown nephew and causing harm, but instead, he was dragged underneath the machine and crushed, according to a report from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.
The conclusion of the report obtained through a public records request, states, “The Pistenbully snow groomer began sliding causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake,” reports added,
“Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical issues, it is believed based on our mechanical inspection that the parking brake would keep the Pistenbully from moving forward. When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over.”
The report concluded that Renner exited the snowplow without engaging the emergency brake, causing him to be pulled under the machine when he tried to divert or stop it to prevent injury to his nephew.
His nephew aided him until emergency services arrived, and Renner was airlifted to the hospital where he spent more than two weeks and underwent two surgeries while in the ICU.
Renner’s next public appearance will be on his new Disney+ series Rennervations after the airing of an ABC News special in April titled Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview, a Story of Terror, Survival, and Triumph.
