Isn’t it exciting to watch a movie because it has your favorite actor in it? Or, isn’t it great when you watch a movie and feel certain actors performed well and you got your new favorite actor? However, not always do these actors perform well. Even big names like Jennifer Lawrence and Keanu Reeves tend to underperform and destroy the movie. Yes, we cannot always blame the direction or writing, sometimes it is the actors. So, here are actors who single-handedly destroyed the movie they were in. Check it out!
1. Edward Norton In The Incredible Hulk
Edward Norton was a huge name in the industry back in the 2000s. He was able to bag classic movies to his name. An actor like him playing a comic character was a different thing and fans were excited about all the teasers and trailers. However, as the release date approached, fans heard nothing interesting. That’s because there were no interviews, trailers, promo images for the film. Rumors have it that Edward was demanding the power to rewrite a few scenes and be credited for the ones he had already done. Due to all this, the movie was badly impeded.
Finally, the movie was released with zero hype and excitement. Even though we love the movie to date, we do not really miss Edward Norton as the Hulk. Subsequently, he was replaced by Mark Ruffalo.
2. Chris Tucker In Rush Hour 3
Chris Tucker had the golden opportunity to star alongside Jackie Chan in Rush Hour movies. The first movie in the franchise did well, and the sequel did extremely well. So, the makers went ahead with the third. Before appearing in Rush Hour movies, Chris Tucker had worked on other great projects that helped him make his name in the industry. However, his one decision affected the movie Rush Hour 3. Earlier, there was a concept when only one star was enough to make the movie hit. And, that actor would demand as much as 20 million a movie. However, Chris Tucker was demanding 25 million for this movie, that too opposite of Jackie Chan.
3. January Jones In X-Men: First Class
January Jones has been a part of good projects like “Mad Men”, “Unknown”, and also “The Last Man On Earth”. However, her performance in “X-Men: First Class” wasn’t appreciated by fans at all. They found her dull and expressionless.
4. Lindsay Lohan In The Canyons
Remember how famous Lindsay Lohan was for her career? The paparazzi used to be so mad about her that they even got into a filmy car chase that resulted in an accident. However, soon after things weren’t going great for her. Just when everyone thought “The Canyons” would bring her career back on track, rumors started pouring in that she wasn’t easy to work with on the sets, she had suddenly become camera shy, and the film was delayed because of all this. By the time the movie was released, all the buzz for it was killed.
5. Justin Timberlake In Shrek
The sole reason why Justin Timberlake got to voice King Arthur in Shrek was that he was dating Cameron Diaz at that time. She had recommended him for the role and wouldn’t back down. So, he was cast to voice Artie. However, he failed to give a good performance. The movie suffered in some way or the other. Oh, and also, the year this movie was released, the couple broke up!
