Black Canary actress Caity Lotz is quite sad about the cancellation of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow after seven seasons, yet she is very grateful to have portrayed the role of Sara Lance for so many seasons.

Lotz first appeared as Sara aka Black Canary on CW’s Arrow in the month of October 2013. She remained a steady presence there (even suffering a brief death and all!) until The CW decided to make a new spinoff series that made its debut in January 2016 and originally also starred Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Falk Hentschel, Franz Drameh, Arthur Darvill, Ciara Renée, Dominic Purcell, and Wentworth Miller.

Caity Lotz Had A Late Reaction To The Cancellation News

This means that Lotz remained as the sole OG cast member. Lotz made a really late reaction to the news of the cancellation, as she has been recently kept busy in Washington, D.C. lobbying alongside The Creative Coalition, in order to secure some funding for the National Endowment for the Arts. Due to this, the actress didn’t get much time to weigh in on the cancellation news until the middle of the night.

“I’m going to miss it so much,” she revealed in a series of Instagram Story videos. “I’m going to miss our amazing cast and crew. But at the same time I recognize how lucky have been to play Sara Lance for this long. Working on Legends has been amazing. It’s been such a journey and I am so endlessly grateful for it, and for you guys. So, thank you. To all the Legends of Tomorrow fans out there, we love you guys so much. And it has been a blast.”

We all know that The CW is quite popular for giving its longer-running series a nice goodbye, but the last season of Legends made its end on a literal cliffhanger. However, some sources have pointed out that a few characters of the show can easily populate other CW shows in the DC Arrowverse.

Keto Shimizu, showrunner of Legends, also made to social media to react to the cancellation. “It’s been an incredible run. However, the CW has let us know that there will be no season 8… We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew, and writers have contributed to the little show that could,” she wrote on Twitter.
