After DC’s Peacemaker, director James Gunn is now well underway filming the next installment of Guardians of the Galaxy, and until now, quite surprisingly enough, not much has leaked from the set of Vol. 3. Gunn has kept all fans updated with his prominent posts on social media about his day-to-day on the Guardians set, and even including a mystery that involves some toys of Rick and Morty. Somehow, Marvel and Gunn have managed to keep everything under strict wraps. With every superhero movie, fans always expect some leaks or even some photos from the set, but this hasn’t been the case with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 until now.
As spotted by the Daily Mail, actors Dave Bautista and Pom Klementieff arrived on the Guardians of the Galaxy set in Atlanta and while we see nothing too eventful in the images, as a fan, you do get a glimpse at the looks for Drax and Mantis in the third installment. Drax the Destroyer, played by Bautista, has a brand new costume that is also equipped with new boots that look a bit spiffy and new pants. On the other hand, Klementieff was covered up, wearing a bomber jacket that looked dope, and it’s quite safe to assume that Mantis will be looking more or less the same in the film.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 might be James Gunn’s last Marvel Studios film as he is now working more closely with DC on projects like Peacemaker, The Suicide Squad, and two unannounced projects. Gunn recently revealed that GOTG Vol. 3 will be the final time we see his team of Guardians while he made an appearance on the Hero Nation Podcast by Deadline.
“This is the end for us, the last time people will see this team of Guardians,” Gunn told Deadline, regarding Guardians 3. “It’s big; it’s so, so big and dark, and different from what people might be expecting it to be.” He added that, “I just want to be true to the characters, the story and give people the wrap-up that they deserve for the story. That’s always a little bit scary; I’m doing my best.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be hitting the theaters on May 23rd, 2023 with its original cast set to return. The movie is also set to feature Will Poulter playing the role of Adam Warlock, Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord, Elizabeth Debecki playing the role of Ayesha, Peacemaker‘s Chukwudi Iwuji in an unknown role, and, Sean Gunn as Kraglin. While we do not know much about the film yet, we’re quite certain that it’ll be yet another amazing film from James Gunn.
