How This ‘Game of Thrones’ Scene Gave Pedro Pascal a Dangerous Eye Infection

Pedro Pascal has become an internet sensation recently. The actor, with his latest entertainment, hit, The Last of Us, has become the heartthrob of the entertainment industry. The Chilean-American actor began his career by auditioning at the age of 20. He got his first big hit after his association with Game Of Thrones. Pascal went on to star in hits like Narcos, Wonder Woman 1984, The Mandalorian, and The Last of Us.

While the 48-year-old star started 2023 with two successful television shows, his character in Game Of Thrones has been iconic. He played Oberyn Martell, the charismatic prince of Dorne. Pascal’s time on the show was less, but his character died like a hero, and fans have loved that for years. The Last of Us star recently revealed how recreating his Game Of Thrones death scene gave him a serious eye infection.

The after-effects of Oberyn Martell on Pedro Pascal’s eye

Pedro Pascal rose to fame after starring in the legendary series, Game Of Thrones. Despite having less screen time on the show, the actor gained the attention of fans for his epic death scene. Oberyn Martell, played by Pascal, was brutally killed by The Mountain, who crushed Martell’s skull and spat blood all over the stone floor. Fans have always longed to pay tribute to the character. 

The 48-year-old actor revealed the after-effects of recreating the scene with a fan. The actor recently appeared on an edition of The Hollywood Reporter‘s Actors Roundtable, alongside Kieran Culkin, Jeff Bridges, Michael Imperioli, Evan Peters, and Damson Idris. 

During the time, The Mandalorian star revealed how fans wanted to recreate the death scene with him and wanted to click selfies by putting thumbs in his eyes. For the love and appreciation he has received, he let them. 

The actor said, “And at first, I was so earnest and happy about the success of the character in the show, I’d let them. And then I remember getting a bit of an eye infection.”

The Chilean-born American actor tops the chart of weird fan interactions after the incident.

The horrific death of Oberyn Martell 

In 2013, Pedro Pascal appeared in the popular television series Game of Thrones. Although he wasn’t lead, he attracted fans’ attention by playing Oberyn Martell, the charismatic prince of Dorne. Oberyn plays a crucial part in the series by drawing attention to Robert’s Rebellion events that other characters choose to ignore.

Despite having little screen time Pascal’s character was successful in leaving an impression on the audience by his brutal death.

After appearing in only seven episodes of the series, the 48-year-old’s character was killed off. In episode 8, titled The Mountain and the Viper, of season 4, The Mandalorian star character Oberyn Martell, was killed by knight Ser Gregor Clegane, who stuck his thumbs in his eyes and crushed his skull.
