Back in the mid-2000s, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the star couple in Hollywood. Having met on the set of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the duo quickly sparked dating rumors after Pitt’s divorce from Jennifer Anniston. Although their marriage eventually fell apart and went down as one of the ugliest celebrity breakups in history, the couple was madly in love with each other in the 2000s. Back in 2007, Jolie opened up about meeting Pitt on the set of the movie. The American actress revealed that she turned into a workaholic so that she could spend more and more time with Brad Pitt.
Angelina Jolie reveals that she wasn’t looking for a relationship when she met Brad Pitt
Back in 2007, Angelina Jolie appeared in an interview with Vogue magazine. The Original Sin actress talked about how she goes about her life as a mother of three and her acting work in the interview. Jolie also talked about her first impression of the actor and said,
“Brad was a huge surprise to me,” further adding, “I, like most people, had a very distant impression of him from . . . the media.“
Jolie further talked about how she was not looking for a relationship when she met the actor. She said, “I think we were both the last two people who were looking for a relationship. I certainly wasn’t.” The Wanted actress further explained that both of them were very content with their lives at that point.
The Salt actress turned into a workaholic after meeting Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie revealed how she turned into a workaholic after meeting with the Fight Club actor. She explained that they both found a strange sense of companionship and comfort with each other on the set. She said, “I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened.”
Jolie further explained she was constantly looking to work more on the movie so that she could spend more time with him. She said,
“I think a few months in I realized, God, I can’t wait to get to work.” She further added, “anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork. We just became kind of a pair.”
However, their love story did not have a happy ending in the end. In 2016, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. After that, things got way too messy with their custody lawsuit and constant allegations of domestic abuse and violence. Jolie also decided to sell her share of Château Miraval that Pitt was saving as an investment for their 6 kids. The ex-couple first bought the South France estate together for $28.4 million in 2008.
