Is Doctor Strange 2 Marvel’s First Misfire?
Doctor Strange 2 is not a bad movie; it just tries to be too much. It’s hard to get past the fact that it takes all of the implications from the first film and runs with them which are not entirely logical. However, this film does have its amusing moments and Benedict Cumberbatch is still an acting wizard who can charm regardless of the material he’s given throughout this film. The problem with this movie happens to be what it decides to do exactly as opposed to what’s actually happening within the story being told.

Doctor Strange 2: Expectations Vs. Reality
The groundbreaking film that fans have been waiting for since rumors of it were first publicly circulated more than a decade ago is finally upon us. However, the Marvel masterminds seem to have forgotten that there’s more to making a movie than just referencing and connecting dots on a master plot map. The film is a fun popcorn flick with a great cast and some more special effects than you could shake a spare magic lamp at. It’s clear that the Marvel brain trust spent most of their time concocting crazy new ways to use the tech as opposed to actually thinking about how they were going to incorporate the plot into the film itself.

Is Doctor Strange 2 A Misfire?
There’s no question that many of the characters in this movie were given poor development and weak motives but the two who fall victim to this the most are Stephen Strange and Christine Palmer. With Strange, what we see is a brilliant surgeon who is so stubborn and set into his ways that he ultimately ends up ruining his hands which later on leads him to go on a search for healing. As for Christine, she seemingly has no onscreen appeal. What makes this even more frustrating is just how important these characters are – with both of them making up key roles in the plot. We know that the special effects are amazing, but we wish the human element wasn’t lacking so immensely in comparison especially since it is at the center of everything.
