“Total chaos at the SAG Awards”: Screen Actors Guild Awards Humiliates Veteran Hollywood Legend Bill Murray – Leaves Him Stranded Before the Event
The Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony became a disaster Sunday evening, leaving Hollywood legend Bill Murray and other stars stranded outside the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles.
Chaos reigned supreme as hundreds of guests were left waiting hours to enter the venue, thanks to a supposed fire marshal blocking the entrance. However, some insiders claim that the real culprit was overcrowding, which caused a massive bottleneck at the entrance.
All About The Chaos
Claire Foy and Rooney Mara were among the unlucky stars caught up in the madness, with some reports suggesting they were left waiting for up to two hours outside the venue. Ramin Setoodeh, the co-editor-in-chief of Variety posted several videos on Twitter showing the “total chaos” that ensued outside the event.

To make matters worse, veteran Hollywood celebs like Bill Murray were left outside, hoping to attend the prestigious event. The reporter also shared a video on Twitter showing how “even Bill Murray has to wait.”

It was a humiliating experience for Murray, who has been a fixture in Hollywood for over four decades and has received critical acclaim for his work in films like Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, and Lost in Translation.

Despite the chaos outside, Claire Foy and Rooney Mara were eventually allowed inside the venue just in time to present the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role award, which went to Ke Huy Quan for his role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. However, the damage had already been done to many of the guests, who were left stranded outside.
The incident was a major embarrassment for the organizers of the SAG Awards, who had hoped to make a splash with their first live event since the pandemic began. Instead, they were forced to deal with a public relations nightmare that could have easily been avoided with better planning and organization.
Why Was Bill Murray Left Stranded
While some insiders blamed the fire marshal for the delays, others believe the problem was the organizers’ failure to anticipate the number of guests attending the event. The Fairmont Century Plaza hotel is a popular venue for Hollywood events. However, it seems that the SAG Awards organizers failed to consider the popularity of this year’s event.
Meanwhile, there was supposed to be a protest against the Union’s strict vaccine requirements by anti-vaccine extremists outside the awards event. No one knows if the fire marshal’s decision to make legends like Murray wait outside was related to this.
In the end, the SAG Awards went ahead as planned, with many of the guests able to put the chaos outside behind them and enjoy the show. However, it’s clear that the incident left a bad taste in the mouths of many attendees, and it’s unlikely that anyone will forget the chaos that ensued anytime soon.
